Educational Background: Maggie graduated from Michigan State with degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education (Emotional and Behavioral Impairments). Maggie also has a Master’s of Education in Literacy from DePaul.
About Maggie: Maggie has taught on the North Shore for over 20 years in both Kindergarten and preschool classrooms. She lives in Glenview with her family and two dogs. In her spare time, Maggie reads, plays the ukulele, runs ultra-marathons, and loves watching her kids perform in their various bands and theatrical performances. Maggie has a deep passion for understanding human development and meeting kids where they are to ensure personalized growth and understanding.
Educational Background: Becky has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in both Elementary and Special Education.
About Becky: Becky brings over 17 years of experience and excitement to WCNS. Having experienced the joy of sending her three daughters to WCNS as pre-schoolers, Becky was thrilled to join the WCNS staff almost 20 years ago!
Educational Background: Ellen graduated from National Louis University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a second major in Psychological and Brain Sciences.
About Ellen: Ellen has spent her career supporting children’s developmental journey from preschool and beyond. Ellen has served as a long time teacher and the Executive Director at WCNS. She has extended learning to the outdoors and established the first preschool Edible Education program and organic garden on Chicago’s North Shore. Aside from her work in school leadership, she has spent over fifteen years in the classroom, concentrating on developing an individualized, play based curriculum with an emphasis on sensory integration and executive functioning. Ellen is also known for establishing the Educational Division at Special Gifts Theatre, an educational and therapeutic theatre program that gives individuals with special needs the opportunity to shine on stage. Ellen lives in Kenilworth with her husband and four children.
Educational Background: Anna has an undergraduate degree in Child Development from Vanderbilt University with a minor in Special Education, a Masters degree in Education from Harvard University, and a Masters degree in Teaching from National-Louis University.
About Anna: There is nothing better than seeing the world through a child’s eyes. I love working with children because they are eager to learn and excited to soak up all WCNS has to offer. I have been teaching for 18 years and love being with children every day. I live in Glencoe with my husband, Brent, and 3 children, Charles, Caroline, and Connor.
Educational Background: Anne studied at the Australian Catholic University and has a bachelor’s degree in Education. Anne is from Australia and has lived here in Glenview since 2007. She started her teaching career in Australia where she taught elementary grades for 10 years. The past 7 years she has taught at the preschool level at WCNS and other NorthShore schools.
About Anne: Anne started at WCNS at the end of 2020 and is now teaching in the RTP program and the Juniors. Anne has a husband and two children, two stepchildren and two dogs. She loves to compete in triathlons nationally and internationally and is always active.

Educational Background: Sari has a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education (dual degree) from Syracuse University and a Masters of Education from Boston College.
About Sari: Sari has been a preschool and elementary teacher for over 20 years on the North Shore. She and her husband, Don, along with their three children, live in Wilmette. Kate, Kyle and Luke all attended WCNS as preschoolers and it was magical! When she isn’t teaching, you can find Sari reading a book at the beach, hanging out at the Wilmette library or going on adventures with family and friends.

About Rebecca
Rebecca Stewart is an early childhood educator with over 18 years of teaching experience. For the past three years, Rebecca has taught the Seniors class at WCNS. Throughout her career, Rebecca has worked with children ranging from young infants through kindergarten. She is passionate about creating a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment where all children feel supported, confident, and excited to learn. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys reading, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.
Educational Background: Ellis graduated from Oakton Community College with an Arts Associates Degree. She studied Early Childhood Development and Education, and also graduated with an Advanced Early childhood Teaching Certificate. She plans to continue her education at a four year college to continue learning about Early Childhood Education.
About Ellis: Ellis has been an assistant at WCNS for 5 years. This is her first year as a lead teacher. She has loved learning and growing with the children. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, knitting, painting, watching theater, working out, and reading.
Educational Background: Jen has a Bachelors of Arts in Education from The University of Michigan and a Masters of Education in Reading Education from National-Louis University.
About Jen: Jen taught for many years in Winnetka, primarily in first grade, then took some time off to raise her children. After seeing the joy for learning and amazing community that WCNS offered her children while they attended preschool, Jen was eager to return to education. She and her husband live in Wilmette with their 2 children and 2 guinea pigs. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, doing yoga, and traveling.
