Dear Parents, Family, and Friends of Wilmette Community Nursery School,
It has been a wonderful start to the school year and a thrill to welcome so many new families to the WCNS community. Our little ones are already immersed in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
We hope you’ve seen firsthand some of the exciting new changes at WCNS. The addition of Kids Crooked Houses on the WCNS playground has sparked our children’s curiosity and creativity. Ellen recently relayed a story in which the children skipped onto the playground and cheered, “Now we have two houses! We can be neighbors!” This statement speaks volumes about the sense of community and togetherness that is continuously and intentionally nurtured at WCNS. The Organic Garden continues to thrive providing an outdoor classroom for the children to explore.
We thank you, our generous parent community, who made these additions possible last year through the annual fund and spring fundraiser. We couldn’t have done this without you.
This year, we are asking families to invest in our community and the power of play to support professional development for teachers in Nature Play, Pre-K Literacy & Math. In addition, we hope to add an organic dwarf pear tree to our garden. Your support in these programs will nurture little bodies and minds for many years to come.
Fifty-six years ago, WCNS was founded on the idea that children deserve unique opportunities for play – to freely and joyfully explore, engage, and connect with the world around them. We take great pride in our mission and are committed to a play-based philosophy.
Please consider making a $125 per child donation or other level of support listed below. Any amount is appreciated and will directly benefit our children and the WCNS community. Every single gift makes a difference.
